Bacterial infection was treated with two kinds of antibiotics, but showed high resistance to both drugs. The head of the British Association for Sexual Health and HIV, Dr. Olven Williams, said that the emergence of this new strain of gonorrhea with high resistance causes serious concern. Each year, there are 78 million cases of gonorrhea worldwide, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization.
