In Britain, they report a superstable strain of a venereal disease that does not respond to antibiotic treatment. Public health officials of the United Kingdom confirmed that this sexually transmitted infection is becoming more resistant to treatment, reports The Washington Post.

It is known that this year one of the UK residents was infected as a result of sexual contact with a woman from South-East Asia. Bacterial infection was treated with two kinds of antibiotics, but showed high resistance to both drugs. The head of the British Association for Sexual Health and HIV, Dr. Olven Williams, said that the emergence of this new strain of gonorrhea with high resistance causes serious concern. Each year, there are 78 million cases of gonorrhea worldwide, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization.
