The governor of the Sverdlovsk region Evgeny Kuyvashev approved the plan for the preparation and holding of festive events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the foundation of Polevsky. This day is traditionally celebrated on the third Sunday of July, together with the Day of the Metallurgist.

The program of events includes not only cultural and mass events, but also activities in the area of ??the improvement of social facilities, as well as plans for publishing activities, international and inter-municipal cooperation, and much more. The plan will be implemented throughout the year 2018.

So, it is supposed that educational institutions and cultural institutions will be repaired in Polevsk city district, landscaped yard territories. In addition, it is planned to reconstruct a monument to soldiers of the Great Patriotic War in the village of Poldnevaya.

The anniversary of Polevsky will be dedicated to major cultural and sporting events. For example, it is planned to hold the III city festival-contest of author's creativity "Word about Polevsk land", motocross competitions "Motobiathlon", festival "Day of neighbors" at the memorable sign "Europe-Asia", track and field athletics festival "Silver hoof" and many other events.

The plan includes information and publishing activities. Among them, the production of souvenirs, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Polevsky, the shooting of the educational film "The First City on Chusovoy", the release of the catalog of excursion and educational routes "Children's travels in Polevskoy" and much more. In the framework of international and inter-municipal cooperation, the delegations of sister cities Polotsk (Republic of Belarus), Klatovy (Czech Republic), Cannavia (Republic of Cyprus).

Officially, the time of the foundation of Polevsky is 1718, when the industrial development of the Gumeshevsky deposit of copper ore began.

The city, as well as the villages and villages of the Polevsk district are glorified by the tales of Pavel Bazhov, rich in cultural, sporting and labor traditions.
