Sverdlovsk road builders began work to protect the roads and bridges from spring ice and flood waters. Until the end of March, explosive work will be carried out on major rivers, before April 5, ice is cut at eight bridges, the Governor's Information Policy Department.

The first blasting was carried out on Saturday, March 24. Secure transport traffic is provided by contractors responsible for the operation of facilities. The first was the Verkhoturye City District. Here specialists of Sverdlovskavtodor JSC blew up ice on the Salda River at the bridge connecting Prokopyevskaya Salda and Piya village, and also on the river Tura at the bridge connecting the villages of Malakhov and Lobanov.
On Monday, March 26, explosions were heard in Slobodoturinsky district. Specialists of JSC "Meliostroy" released three bridges on the river Tura in the village of Turinskaya Sloboda, the village of Barbashina and the village of Makui. Sverdlovskavtodor worked in the Turin region on three bridges across the Tura in the villages of Zhukovsky, Lipovskoye and the village of Galaktionovka.
Until April 5, road workers saw ice from eight bridges: two in the Achit District through the Bisert River, two in the Krasnoufimsky District across the Ufa River, one in the Gornouuralsky District across the Sulem River, one in the Taborinsky District across the Emelyashivka River, two in the Turin District across the Susatka River and Yalynka.
In addition, for the protection of roads from floods, work is underway to open and clean channels of culverts. The stock of pipes for replacement is created, if necessary.. Work is continuing on the movement of snow and ice outside the roadbed and drainage structures.
The Road Administration sent letters to contractors about the need to prepare for high water. Contractors prepared for work during the spring high water about 500 units of road machinery (bulldozers, excavators, dump trucks, motor graders). Also a stock of rubble stone, crushed stone and cement is created, which is necessary for the operative restoration of damaged areas.
According to the forecast of the Ural Department for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, the flood is expected to occur in early April. Road organizations for special control took sections of highways with low-water bridges in Turin, Slobodo-Turin, Tavdin and Alapaevsky districts.
A total of 749 bridges and 13267 culverts are located on the network of regional roads. The network of highways and artificial structures includes 9 contract organizations.
