Inhabitants of the Middle Urals are urged to surrender weapons, ammunition or explosives, stored without permission. On behalf of the head of the region Yevgeny Kuyvashev, since 2018, the amount of remuneration for the voluntary surrender of these items has been increased by 30%. So, for today the maximum payment for a military small rifle is about five thousand rubles.

According to Aleksandr Kudryavtsev, the Minister of Public Security of the Sverdlovsk Region, the significant increase in the cost of payment - almost a third - for the surrender of weapons and ammunition will allow more Uralians to be involved in the process of decriminalizing trafficking in firearms and ammunition, as well as in preventing crime in the region.

During the program's operation, the residents of the region handed over about five hundred weapons.

The department specified that among the weapons being handed over, such types as hunting fire smooth-bore guns, gas pistols intended for self-defense, combat rifles, grenades, mines, as well as explosives, including gunpowder.

Sverdlovsk citizens wishing to hand over an unregistered combat or hunting gun need to apply with a statement to the police station. In case of voluntary appearance and delivery of illegally stored weapons, applied in addition to the received monetary compensation, is released from criminal liability for this offense.
