Donatella Versace, head of the Italian fashion house Versace, announced the decision to abandon the use of natural fur when creating clothes. She told about this in an interview with the magazine "1843". "Fur? I do not take part in this anymore.. I do not want to kill animals to create a fashion. This is wrong, "- noted Donatella Versace.

As noted by the publication of Metro, this is a rather unexpected turn in the representation of the brand, as at the time of the preparation of the interview with Donatella the brand was engaged in advertising fur products. Throughout its existence, the brand has used a variety of furs, ranging from mink and raccoon accessories to fox fur coats created only recently, in 2017.

Armani, Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, Ralph Lauren and Gucci have already abandoned natural fur in their collections. In addition, at the beginning of the year the authorities of Norway announced their intention to ban the farms for growing foxes and minks for the fur industry from 2025.
