Sysert inter-district prosecutor's office approved the indictment in the criminal case of former vice-mayor Aramily, caught on a bribe, which he actively extorted from the developer in exchange for his services.

The incident occurred on May 12, 2017. Vice-Mayor of Aramily Alexander Melnikov, who supervised the construction and regulation of land relations, received from the developer Zakhar Ivachev documents for an apartment of 52 sq m in a newly built house. The market value of the facility was more than 2 million rubles.

The official for some time extorted a bribe from the builder, promising in exchange unhindered issuance of permission to commission the facility and general patronage in the construction. Melnikov even offered various options. For example, instead of an apartment, he considered the possibility of obtaining a monetary equivalent. Sounded the amount of 2.3 million rubles. Ivachev agreed to the apartment, but immediately after handing the warrant went to the police.

It is worth noting that before the bribe Ivachev was experiencing great problems in communicating with the mayoralty.

He built the house in accordance with the program for resettlement of emergency and dilapidated housing, but after the construction the mayor refused to buy out apartments for immigrants, almost bankrupting the developer. The total debt of the municipality amounted to 40 million rubles.

In July 2017, Melnikov was dismissed from his post.

The criminal case was sent to the Sysertsky District Court. For taking bribes in a particularly large amount, Melnikov faces up to 15 years in prison.
