Uralians conquered the legendary pass of Dyatlov on dog sleds. Three sleds were dragged by 24 sled dogs. They overcame the way from the base in the village of Vizhay to the pass and back for five days, after a total of 250 km. Extremes traveled in the footsteps of a film crew from the United States, moving on snowmobiles.
As the expedition members say, faster to pass the way they were prevented by a heavy snow storm, raging for two days - on March 6 and 7. He forced the kayurs to lower the dogs into the valley of the Lozva River to Izba Ilyich.
The route ran mainly along the valley of the river with picturesque rocky coasts: the taiga landscapes were replaced by boundless bogs, in places there were steep limestone cliffs with caves; along the spurs of the ridge of the Poyasovy Kamen, through the mountain taiga and rocky plateaus in the vicinity of the mountain of Holat-Chakhl (1096.7 m), north of the sources of the Auspii River.
From the wild animals of the expedition met one wolverine, which ran across the river Lozva. Wolves, who were afraid of tourists, did not meet.
On the way back to Vizhay, another difficulty was encountered:
water, which appeared in places on top of ice on the Lozva River. Extremals often had to stop and clean the ice on their paws in dogs.
The indigenous inhabitants of these places - Mansi - were very hospitable. In the village of Ushma the entire expedition team spent the night in a warm Mansi hut and even went to the bathhouse.
Now the company "Ural Expeditions", which organized a trip to the dogs on the Dyatlova Pass, plans to conquer the same Manpupuner Plateau on the same dogs.
