Vandalism, theft and threatening behavior can lead to different penalties depending on where the offense was committed. Such an amendment to the law is discussed in the government of Denmark. According to the idea of ??representatives of the Ministry of Justice, in certain areas where low-income groups of the population, the so-called ghettos, will be punished, crimes will be punished more severely than in more prosperous regions, writes EuroPulse.

What territories should be recognized by the ghetto will be decided by local authorities and police. The list of offenses that fall under the new amendment, too, has not yet been determined. Innovation should be discussed by parliamentarians. Some parties, in particular, the opposition Social Democratic Party, are skeptical about the innovation. In the opinion of its representatives, such a measure will not relieve complex areas of crime, while increasing the risk of making a mistake in considering such cases in court.
