Journalist Ivan Yakovina told the NW portal about how Romanian citizens actually joined the fight against corruption.
"A story that personally seems to me incredibly important, although infrequently falls into our news releases.
In Romania, mass protests broke out against the actions of Justice Minister Tudorel Toader, who was going to resign the head of the local anti-corruption bureau Laura Koveshi. This woman became the most terrible nightmare for local corrupt officials. Thanks to its work, a significant part of the Romanian political elite was on the plank, and the country's economy began to grow at unprecedented rates. That is why almost all Romanian politicians hate the Koveshi. And that's why she is very much respected by ordinary citizens of the country.
This story is important for us - as an example of the fact that corruption can be and must be fought at the highest level. No excuses such as "this does not correspond to our mentality" or "yes, we always do things that way, so it will be in the future" should not stop anyone. In addition, it must be remembered that the success of this work largely depends on the support of the public.
The Romanians turned out to be real young men - despite the frost and snowfall, they came out to support Koveshi. It is very important that they do not lose this struggle and in Eastern Europe there appeared a living example of the successful destruction of high-level corruption and, as a result, a confident growth of GDP and the welfare of ordinary people, and not just a narrow layer of billionaires at the very top.
I'm sending support beams and citizens of Romania. and Laura Kovesha herself! ", - wrote the journalist.
