During January-December 2017, the number of Ukrainian citizens receiving a minimum remuneration for their work decreased by three percent. This applies only to civil servants. In 2017, the share of employees with salaries of UAH 3,200 to UAH 6,000 fluctuated at the level of 43 percent, to date, this figure has increased to 49 percent.
It is noteworthy that only 23 percent of the staff receives a salary of 10 thousand hryvnia and more. The government claims that 2018 will be the year of "rapid growth" of wages across Ukraine. At the moment, the average wage index for the country is 6-8 thousand hryvnia, in the new year the figure is planned to be stimulated to grow to 10 thousand hryvnia.
As reported in "Ura-Inform", recently Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groisman is confident that this year salaries and pensions of Ukrainians will grow faster than prices.
