A heavy snowfall, which overwhelmed Moscow and the Moscow region, moved south to Bryansk, Vladimir, Smolensk, Kaluga, Tula oblasts. More than 400 brigades (more than 1.5 thousand people) are eliminating violations in the work of electricity networks with the support of 500 units of special equipment.

To help local power engineers in the places where the most difficult situation has developed, 36 mobile teams of subsidiaries and 80 reserve power supplies to 120 that were previously involved in the Moscow region under the order of personally supervising the process of Rosetti general director Pavel Livinsky.

A difficult situation has developed in the Kaluga region. The snowfall that hit the region was the strongest in the history of meteorological observations. 17 settlements of the region were left without electricity. 35 objects of the region were transferred to autonomous power sources. Repair teams of power engineers have to get to the scene of accidents through snowdrifts, eliminating blockages and trees that can fall on high-voltage lines. Work is knee-deep in the wet snow. The wind with wet snow causes new emergency outages in already repaired areas. In Kaluga, due to heavy snowfall, five boiler-houses were disconnected, trolley buses in some streets stopped, wagons could not pass everywhere, trees fell, there were difficulties with the traffic.

In the Bryansk region without electricity on Sunday there were 80 settlements with a population of 5,000 people. For a day, the emergency teams completely restored the electricity supply.

A similar situation was in the Vladimir region, by noon on Monday the electricity supply was restored.

The snow fell on Tatarstan. On February 5, due to poor visibility and blizzard, the work of ice crossings was suspended, the movement of intercity buses and trucks on federal I-7 Volga and P-3239 lines "Kazan-Orenburg-Akbulak-Border with Tatarstan". A temporary restriction was imposed on the movement of buses to nearby areas. Due to a severe blizzard several flights from Kazan airport were detained or canceled. Flights from Moscow, Istanbul, St. Petersburg and the UAE were sent to spare airfields. Passengers of delayed flights were provided with places in hotels, hot meals, drinks.
