In the United Nations, it is predicted that the population of Ukraine to 2050 may decrease to 36.4 million people, that is, by 15%.

Such data are contained in the report of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations Secretariat (DESA) of the United Nations "World Population Prospects" (2017).

According to the data, in 2017 the population of Ukraine was 44.223 million people (20.446 million men and 23.777 million women). Until 2030, the population of the country may decrease to 41.2 million, to 2050 - 36.416 million, and to 2100 - 28.186 million people.

The report indicates that the decrease in the population of Ukraine and another 50 countries in the period from 2017 to 2050 is due to low birth rate.
