The main priority of law enforcement in 2017 was the implementation of preventive measures to prevent burglaries or car hijackings. In 2017, law enforcement agencies registered 2903 raids, which is 952 or 40 percent less than in 2016. This number also includes separate cases of organized attacks on citizens, offices or enterprises.
In total, 86 cases of crime detection with the use of firearms were recorded in the past year, 105 assaults on enterprises, institutions and organizations were detected out of 219 registered incidents.
The most depressing situation has developed with the disclosure of car thefts. In 2017, 8800 cases were entered into a single register, of which only three thousand cars returned to their owners.
As reported in the "URA-Inform", the National Police of Ukraine in January-December 2017 eliminated 1,3 thousand gambling establishments in the country.
