It is reported that the new system of checks will include a special register, where the name of the offender will be entered, his location and residence. A number of French athletes have issued a categorical protest against such actions, considering it a concrete violation of the person's private life. In particular, the lawsuit against WADA was initiated by the French cyclist, Olympic champion Zhanni Longo.
The European Court having considered this case ruled that the abolition of the relevant inspections would lead to an increased risk of doping by professional athletes. In addition, the Frenchwoman was sent an appropriate letter, which explained in detail the European system of doping testing.
Recall that the rule, which requires athletes to provide detailed information about the location and residence has been working since 2004.
