The Sverdlovsk Union of Journalists reacted to the words of TV host Vladimir Soloviev that "the Urals are a breeding ground for the liberal fascists, with the liberal fascist media". Statement of the Board of the Creative Union released on its official website.

Members of the board believe that his statement "goes beyond the norms of morality and professional journalistic ethics".

"Ural journalism has always been oriented and will focus not on emotional, incorrect statements of outsiders, but on the opinion of its multi-million audience," reads the document.

The scandal arose after the lecture of the teacher UrFU Konstantin Yurchenko, who called the generation of people 1965-70 "lost". After that, a commission gathered at the university, which recognized his words as unethical.
