Over the past day, Wednesday, January 17, Russian mercenaries and subordinate militants violated the silence seven times. As a result of shelling, three Ukrainian servicemen were killed. Another five received combat injuries.

According to URA-Inform, referring to the press center of the anti-terrorist operation headquarters, Ukrainian servicemen in two cases were forced to open fire from weapons not prohibited by the Minsk agreements.

At the same time, in the Lugansk direction, the militants intensified at night in the area of ??the Svetlodarskaya arc. The enemy led fire from grenade launchers of various types and 120-mm mortars around the village of Luganskoye.

In Donetsk direction, the enemy violated ceasefire agreements with 82-mm mortars, heavy machine guns and small arms at Peskov. With mortars of the same caliber, militants fired at strongpoints around Verkhneotoretsky, and from grenade launchers and small arms provoked the Ukrainian military to combat confrontation near Novotroitsk.

Special enemy fire activity was also shown in the suburbs of Avdeevka.

In particular, at the approaches to this front-line city, the militants fired over 120-mm mortars, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms for over an hour. Also, illegal armed groups violated a truce from small arms near Granitnogo.

Recall that for the past day Tuesday, January 16, the militants opened fire three times on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As a result of the fighting, two servicemen received combat injuries. They were promptly taken to the military hospital.
