The Commission for Emergency Situations and Technogenic Security of the Lviv Region decided on January 16 to limit the access of children to institutions that are not vaccinated against measles. This was reported by the press service of the Lviv regional state administration with reference to the director of the health department of the Lviv Regional State Administration Irina Mikichak.

At the same time, she noted that 84 cases of measles were recorded in the Lviv region, 56 of them in children. Outbreaks of measles are recorded in six districts and in Lviv.

Mikichak also urged residents of the region to get measles vaccines, because they are the main method of preventing the disease.

She also assured that for today in the region there are 56 thousand doses of vaccines, most of which are in medical institutions.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the United States of America on Tuesday, January 16, published a warning to travelers about the outbreak of measles in Ukraine. In particular, US citizens who are going to Ukraine are advised to make sure they are vaccinated against measles.
