The Sverdlovsk Emergency Ministry has declared war on unauthorized ice crossings calling on all supervisory agencies - from the prosecutor's office to environmental organizations - to join forces in this direction. The reason for this decision was an incident last week in one of the remote areas of the Irkutsk region, where two heavy trucks - a petrol tanker and an autocrane - fell through the ice on the Lena River. The incident occurred on an unauthorized ice crossing, which one of the industrial enterprises uses for their own needs.
In a detailed investigation it turned out that this industrial river way works every winter, but, as life has shown, for the time being. Fortunately, there were no victims. The obvious was the fact that such homemade crossings only on one Lena dozens.
"Unauthorized crossing always represents a threat to human life. It is a pity that local authorities underestimate this danger, do not take the proper measures to arrange the crossings properly and are loyal to violators. We are forced to state that this situation is not only in the Irkutsk region, but everywhere in almost every region, "commented the deputy head of the SRC EMERCOM of Russia Major General of Internal Service Alexander Eremeev.
Recall last week in the Sverdlovsk region, the Ministry of Emergencies revealed three illegal ice crossings. Three of them on the Ufa River in the Krasnoufimsky District, one on the Upper Neyvinsky Pond. The supervisory authority demanded that the local authorities eliminate dangerous objects for life before January 23.
