Such an initiative was made by the Minister of the Interior of Slovakia, Robert Kalinjak and his team, who are already ready to submit their version of the bill to the parliament for voting. The reason for such measures is associated with the increase in the level of crime and hooliganism among the Roma population.
Kalinjak proposes to expand the powers of the guards order, in particular, law enforcers will be allowed to apply measures in the Roma settlements because of the recent disturbances of silence at night.
In Slovakia, they plan to conduct constant patrols near the Roma camps, and also introduce a single register of crimes committed by Roma.
It is noteworthy that Roma make up about eight percent of the population of Slovakia.
As reported in URA-Inform, recently law enforcement officers in Slovakia detained two trucks, inside of which were locked 78 refugees, among them there were many Roma.
