It is reported that the basis of the demonstrators were Greek socialists from the organization ANTARSYA, who organized a march to the government building. The reason for such a demonstration was the government's prepared reforms, which envisage a regime of increased economy;
in the package of reforms there is also a clause prohibiting the right to hold a strike or demonstration without the prior permission of the authorities. As a result, there were clashes between activists and the police, who used tear gas against people.
Now demonstrations in Athens are over, but activists insist that they are ready to organize a larger protest together with trade union organizations if their demands are not heard.
As reported in "URA-Inform", recently across Greece a wave of protests of the media staff swept.
