After almost five months of the visa-free regime, there are no specific changes in the dynamics or nature of migration from Ukraine. This opinion was expressed on Tuesday, January 9, by the representative of the Office for Foreigners of Poland.

According to the department, if we compare the two periods, then there is an increase of almost 9% in the arrival of Ukrainians in Poland. This is a natural consequence of the growing number of Ukrainians who live in Poland and visit their homeland, as well as coming to Poland for seasonal work - in agriculture or horticulture.

At the same time, there are some labor migrants who wish to stay longer in Poland.

As of today, about 143 thousand Ukrainian citizens who have valid documents that give them the right to stay in Poland for more than one year, - noted in the office, recalling that citizens of Ukraine have the right to work in Poland for six months a year without obtaining a work permit, subject to a written registration of the employer's application for employment in the relevant county labor departments and a written agreement.

Earlier, the chairman of the Council of Ministers of Poland Mateusz Moravetsky said that in recent years the country has hosted more than 1.5 million Ukrainians, of whom several tens of thousands are settlers from territories covered by the war.

As reported by URA-Inform, Valery Lutkovskaya, the commissioner for the parliament on human rights, stated that the majority of the 1.5 million Ukrainians who are on the territory of Poland came to work and there is no talk of refugees.
