It is reported that previously the main buyer of Ukrainian products were the countries of the Union of Independent States, especially Russia, which bought almost 66 percent of the products. However, because of the war in the east of Ukraine, producers of alcoholic beverages had to reorient to European markets. Now Ukrainian producers export to Latvia, Poland and Germany. Ukraine also does not lag behind in the import of expensive hot drinks from Europe. In 2017, the import rate increased by ten percent.
The volume of export of Ukrainian vodka abroad almost doubled - 20 percent, compared to 2016, 10 percent.
As reported in "URA-Inform", over the past 10 years in Ukraine, official vodka production fell 3.5 times as a result of ill-considered tax policy.
