Since January 1 of this year, only the speed limit in settlements to 50 kilometers per hour has entered into force, the introduction of video fixing violations and changing the procedure for issuing a driver's license.

This was on Thursday, January 4, explained in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. According to the department, as for the certificates, the first will be issued for two years with the right of exchange for a permanent, if the driver during this time will commit no more than three violations.

At the same time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs drew attention to the fact that the change in the amount of fines is impossible without introducing appropriate changes to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Therefore the new system of penalties has not yet begun to operate.

At the same time, it is proposed to increase the penalty for exceeding speed by more than 50 kilometers per hour to 3,400 UAH whereas now it is 510 UAH. For the abandonment of the accident site, a fine of UAH 3,400 is offered and the possibility of depriving the driver of the vehicle for a period of up to six months. In addition, in 20 times it is proposed to increase the amount of a fine for driving a car without the right to UAH 10,200, and for a repeated violation - UAH 40,800.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, January 1 in Ukraine came into force a restriction on the speed of transport.

The relevant resolution was adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on November 10, 2017, and on November 27 it was published in the official government newspaper Uriadovy Courier. The permitted speed of traffic in populated areas is reduced from 60 to 50 kilometers per hour. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine is confident that this decision will contribute to a significant increase in the level of road safety and the preservation of people's lives.
