According to the Department of Civil Protection of the Lviv regional state administration, the spots were detected about three in the afternoon on Tuesday, January 2, at a distance of 200 meters downstream from Borislav. The department also noted, referring to the data of the "Lviv Water Resources Management", the circumstances of the leak are being clarified.

However, according to preliminary data, pollution is caused by old Austrian oil wells in the forest on the territory of the Popelyov village council of the Drogobych district. At the same time, the department was assured that visually oil stains are not visible on the mirror of the Tysmenytsya River near the gauging station.

The withdrawal of water from the water intake "Repnoe" was stopped, the water from which is fed to the city of Borislav, - noted in the department.

At the same time during the inspection of avalanche foci an avalanche volume of 12,500 cubic meters was revealed from the north-eastern exposition of Mount Temnatik in the Transcarpathian region.
