In the Carpathians on January 3, increased avalanche danger

According to Ukrgidromettsentra on Wednesday, January 3, in the Carpathians in connection with snowfall avalanches. According to the press service of the State Service for Emergency Situations, referring to the weather forecasters, today at the high mountains of Ivano-Frankivsk and Transcarpathian regions there is a danger of the third level.



In addition, the State Emergency Service reported that when examining avalanche foci in the Transcarpathian region, a wet avalanche converging from the northeastern exposure of Mount Temnatik. The height of the separation is 1,050 meters above sea level, the volume is 12,500 cubic meters. Approximate date of convergence on December 31, 2017, there is no damage.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, January 3 in the west of Ukraine weather forecasters predict mostly cloudy weather, only in the Lviv and Transcarpathian regions are possible rains. The daily air temperature in the region will be 3-6 degrees Celsius.
