Tehran Times reported that residents of Tehran will no longer be arrested for violating the traditional dress code, which involves wearing a hijab and long loose clothes. Instead of prison terms and fines for women, mandatory "educational conversations" are provided for in special courses. Nevertheless, with repeated violations of the law on the residents of the capital of Iran can be brought to court. At the same time, outside Tehran educational programs are not provided for, and women, as before, will be detained by law enforcers.

Last year, Tehran police announced plans to create a new unit of 7,000 people, including female officers. A large squad must follow the dress code.
