The Secretary-General of the United Nations wished all peoples and countries peace and happiness, families of prosperity and wealth, a peaceful sky over their heads and the coming good. Gutterish again reminded that in the world today not all people can enjoy the New Year holidays, because this year in many states there were conflicts that are the result of shortsightedness of politicians, as well as deliberate collision of peoples, ethnic and religious groups.

The Secretary-General complained about the situation in Myanmar, connected with the repression of the ethnic minority of Muslim Rohinj;

the European official also spoke negatively about the Syrian conflict and the actions of terrorists around the world; insisted on the cessation of hostilities in the east of Ukraine, Libya, Iraq, Libya and many other countries.

In the end, Gutterish promised that the organization would undertake to eliminate such anachronisms of civilization in the new year 2018 with new, even greater efforts.
