According to Depo. Kharkiv in the State Statistical Office in Kharkiv region, at the beginning of the 2017/2018 academic year the number of higher educational institutions of I to IV levels of accreditation in the region was 65 and decreased by four in comparison with the previous academic year.

According to the data of the survey, of the total number of institutions of higher education - 46.2% (30 institutions) of II-II levels of accreditation, 53.8% (35 institutions) - III-IV levels of accreditation.

In higher educational institutions of all levels of accreditation, 171.

3 thousand students were studying at the beginning of the academic year, which is 6.8 thousand (3.8%) less than in the previous academic year. In the universities of the i-II levels of accreditation there were 17.1 thousand. students (10.0%), in the HEIs of III-IV levels of accreditation - 154.2 thousand students (90.0%).

In 2017, the higher educational institutions of the region produced 42.7 thousand specialists, which is 3.5 thousand people (8.9%) more than in 2016.
