Sverdlovsk regional court sentenced a 36-year-old resident of Degtyarsk, who killed neighbors of pensioners. Earlier, the convicted unemployed was found guilty of the murder of two persons, including for the purpose of concealing another crime.

The tragic events took place on the evening of November 4, 2016.

"In the apartment along Kalinin Street in Degtyarsk, the defendant drank alcohol with his friends. After a while, the man decided to go to the store to get more alcohol. At the entrance of the house he met an elderly couple and asked them to borrow money. The pensioner asked him to go to her house a little later. When the defendant came for the promised money, the elderly spouse of the pensioner said that they would not give the money back. In this regard, the attacker from personal dislike caused the pensioner multiple knifes to the face, body and neck. From the received knife wounds the elderly man was lost on a place of incident. At this time the spouse of the deceased began to call for help. The defendant considered that in connection with the presence of the witness of the murder, the law enforcement bodies could subsequently bring him to criminal liability. In this connection, the attacker decided to kill this pensioner, also inflicting multiple stab wounds on her, "the press service of the Sverdlovsk region.

The detainee first confessed to what he had done and described in detail how everything had happened, but later changed his testimony. He even came up with an alibi, saying that that day he was in another place, and said that he paid for alcohol with his card, so he did not need the money of pensioners.

However, an extract from the bank confirmed that no one paid for the card on the day of the murder, alibi was denied by numerous witnesses, besides, the polygraph confirmed the involvement in the crime. The forensic expertise found the perpetrator sane, he was fully aware of what he was doing.

The court sentenced the murderer to 21 years of imprisonment in a strict-regime prison, and also granted a civil claim of the victim, recovering from the defendant 2 million rubles of moral damage and 117,000 rubles compensation for the damage caused.
