A citizen of Georgia tried to smuggle a large batch of cigarettes across the state border. As the press service of the State Emergency Service reports, during the border control of the Mercedes-Benz Viano minibus of Czech registration, a service dog trained to search for tobacco.

This gave grounds for in-depth inspection of the car. At the same time, the foreigner refused to present the vehicle for inspection.

After that, the border guards summoned representatives of the Georgian Embassy in Ukraine and a lawyer for the driver. They were able to inspect the car and as a result of inspection in the car, 21 bags of different sizes.

In total, they contained 45 boxes of cigarettes. Currently, the cost of the contents of bags is set.



According to the Transcarpathian Department of the State Fiscal Service, the foreigner tried to take out of Ukraine 22.5 thousand packs of Rothmans cigarettes of Ukrainian origin with domestic excise stamps.

Currently, the documenting of a customs offense that qualifies under Article 471 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, employees of the Security Service of Ukraine seized 850 thousand packs of cigarettes smuggled from a neighboring country, estimated cost of $ 300 thousand.
