Sverdlovsk Regional Court overturned the conviction of former Prokophor of the Beloyarskiy Urban District Sergei Prokhorenko, convicted for h. 6 items. 290 of the Criminal Code. Following the results of the appellate review, the complaint of the convict and his lawyer was granted: the verdict was canceled, and the case would be sent for a new trial to the Beloyarskiy District Court, but by another composition of the court.

"The court of first instance in the verdict made significant violations of the criminal procedure law," the Sverdlovsk Regional Court.

Recall, Sergei Prokhorenko was found guilty of taking bribes in a particularly large amount for assistance in concluding contracts for the construction of boiler. The objects were not completed, but the acts of the executed works were signed, the money was paid. Because of this, Beloyarsky stayed for a whole winter with little or no heating. Prokhorenko officers detained on January 29, 2016. In September 2016, the criminal case with the indictment was transferred to the court.

On June 5, 2017, the court ordered an ex-official to be sentenced to 9 years in prison with a strict regime prison, with a fine of 233 million rubles (a 70-fold bribe). Also, Prokhorenko is deprived of the right to hold positions in state bodies and local self-government bodies for a period of 2 years.
