The White House compiled a list of seven words and expressions that are not allowed to be used in official documents of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). It is reported by The Washington Post. The list includes "transgender", "vulnerable", "right to receive payments", "diversity", "fetus", "empirically grounded" and "scientifically based".

Words that fall into the list are not allowed to be used when preparing documents for planning the budget for the next year. According to the publication, these concepts were present in the description of certain research projects and anti-epidemic measures CDC.

Among others, the program to prevent the development of AIDS among transgender people, as well as the study of the impact of the Zick virus on the embryos.

In some cases, CDC staff were offered alternative options to replace words that appeared on the banned list. So, instead of the expressions "empirically grounded" and "scientifically based" it is proposed to use the following: "The CDC bases its recommendations on science in accordance with the standards and wishes of the community". In other cases, no substitution was proposed.
