From time to time you stumble across social networks to those who write that Ukraine has driven itself into a corner and will sooner or later return to Russia. And you think at this moment - what do people have in their heads? How do they see it for themselves? - says on the Channel 24 journalist Pavel Kazarin.

Like, we go to the Customs Union and other CSTO. And Ukraine to him - cheers, give, right, So what?.

This is the main misconception of the Kremlin. Russia will not understand that a real war is going on. And that in the homes of Ukrainians come funerals. Russia can tell as many people as possible to its citizens that it is not a party to the conflict. But Ukraine knows that the war is precisely with Russia and this war is a domestic war.

An example of a five-day war, after which Georgia still restored relations with Russia - an unfortunate example. That war lasted only five days, the total loss in it did not exceed three hundred people. And Ukraine has been fighting for almost 3 years and the death toll has gone to tens of thousands.

Any war completely changes the mood. It changes even the logic of historical parallels. In Russia, the history of the Great Patriotic War fulfills the role of the civil religion - it is sacred and the attitude to the events of that war serves as the main watershed along the line "one's own". And in Ukraine the watershed is exactly the current war: on this background it does not matter who you are by nationality, what you believe in and what letters your surname ends with.

What is happening today is forging a new Ukrainian myth. His pantheon of heroes, his own set of important names, his "stalingrads" and "Kursk arcs". And the whole country is involved in this. Three years ago, the slogan "Glory to Ukraine - Heroes of Glory" was from the past. And now he is from our present. And the Ukrainian heroes are not only Ukrainian cadets who fought under Kruty with the advancing parts of Muravyov, but, first of all, those who fight for Ukraine not to repeat the fate of Donbass.

The flywheel has turned. 2015 is not 2005. 10 years ago, after the first Maidan, it was possible to build forecasts that the pro-Russian forces will come to power in Ukraine again. And now it all does not make sense.

And those who continue to write that Ukraine is about to return to Russia's embrace - did not understand what happened in the past 3 years.

All the post-Soviet years, Russia was ready to accept the existence of only that Ukraine, which would have little difference from the Ukrainian SSR - in terms of independence and subjectivity. So. USSR will no longer be. She was killed by the annexation of the Crimea and buried the war in the Donbass.
