Cybersport, which appeared in the late 90s of the last century, confidently conquers more and more new sites. One of the local officials of Macau, Davis Fong Ka Cio, suggested using e-sports competitions to attract more tourists and the development of gambling.
The opportunities for e-sports, along with other important issues related to gambling and casino online, were discussed at the Tenth International Conference on Legal Reforms, which was held at the University of Macau. Director of the Institute for the Study of Commercial Games at the University of Macau drew attention to the fact that cyber-tournaments collect thousands of players and fans, and the competitions can last for weeks and even months. It's no secret that e-sports is popular among young people aged 18-34, which means that by expanding this particular segment of the gambling market, it is possible to increase the competitiveness of local gambling establishments and significantly increase the number of visitors by offering them more diversified entertainment.
Recently, investors have shown considerable interest in e-sports events. In this sphere, significant amounts of money are circulating. According to forecasts, the market volume by 2020 can reach $ 1.5 billion. The audience of games is 258 million people all over the world, of which 93.7 million are not playing, but are simply observers. Also, many e-sports fans like to play in the casino with sizzling hot deluxe.
From 8 to 10 December in Macau hosted the tournament MDL Macau. At stake was the total prize fund of $ 300,000. The competition was attended by nine teams. The OG team won the title. Representatives of the CIS shared the 3-4 place. This is not the last major e-sports event this year.

Recall that one of the first countries in the world to recognize eSports was Russia. In 2016, it was included in the list of sports, and from April 2017 it was transferred to the category of "sports developed at the all-Russian level", which will allow holding official championships of the country, along with traditional football, hockey, basketball, and also assign ranks and titles on computer sport.
