In the Sverdlovsk regional court, a trial began in the case of a 32-year-old resident of the settlement of Monetny who set fire to a barrack. The pensioner died in the fire, and four families were left homeless.. A man is accused of murder in a generally dangerous way and deliberately destroying property.
The tragedy occurred in December 2016. In the village of Monet burned four-apartment two-story apartment building. During the analysis of burnt structures, firemen found the body of a man. The investigators found that the owner of one of the flats of the year 1949 was deceased.
During the check, the police found the cause of the tragedy - a four-story two-story wooden house caught fire as a result of arson. Suspect was a man born in 1985, previously convicted of robbery. During the interrogation, he told that one of the residents of the house beat him, and the intruder decided to take revenge by dabbing the abuser's home. He threw a burning cigarette butt at the door of one of the apartments and, making sure that the rug caught fire on him, he fled.
The fire destroyed the property in four apartments, the tenants along with the underage children literally had to jump from the second floor to the snow in order to save their lives, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. During the fire, a pensioner died who could not get out of a smoke-filled dwelling and was poisoned by combustion products, the rest of the victims got rid of fractures.
At the beginning of the session, Judge Andrei Mineev briefly interviewed the defendant about the circumstances of the case, ascertained his sanity and understanding of what he was accused of. Further, the public prosecutor Maria Otradnova read out the main information from the criminal case under consideration.
Having heard the prosecutor's indictment and the testimony of the victims, the judge declared a break in the consideration of the case. As of mid-December 2017, the next meeting was scheduled. The measure of restraint for the suspect remains unchanged: the man will be in custody.
