As noted, the Ukrainian Navy is cooperating with the US Navy in matters of reform and training of personnel.

According to the First Deputy Commander of the Ukrainian Navy Rear Admiral Andrei Tarasov, the importance of constant contacts of the fleets of the two countries is particularly difficult to overestimate at the stage of restoring the capabilities of the national fleet.

In particular, this happened after the redeployment to the mainland of Ukraine in 2014 as a result of the annexation of the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol by the Russian Federation.

In 2016, there were about ten visits by US Navy ships and ships of the fleets of partner countries to the port of Odessa. Tarasov also stressed that such cooperation is an unconditional testimony of support.
