Thus, violence against women, as well as domestic violence, are becoming a serious problem for Ukrainian society. For this reason, the Verkhovna Rada will have to ratify the Council of Europe Convention on the Prevention of Violence against Women and Domestic Violence.
This convention is known as the Istanbul Convention. This was announced at the Ukrainian Women's Congress by the representative of the President of Ukraine in the parliament - Irina Lutsenko.
