General Mladic sentenced to life imprisonment

The court recognized that the general was largely involved in war crimes committed in Srebrenica, personally leading the shelling of the city.

The tribunal accused Mladic of genocide, crimes against humanity, violation of laws and customs of war, terror against civilians.

In particular, the charge refers to the killing of eight thousand Muslims in Srebrenica in 1995. The accusation also refers to the thousands of victims who died during the 44-month siege of Sarajevo.



He was also accused of mocking people in internment camps, terror against Croats and Muslims in Bosnian settlements, taking UN peacekeepers hostage as hostages.

When the verdict was announced, the accused was not present.

As previously reported in "URA-Inform", a resident of Oklahoma was sentenced to ten years in prison for marrying her own biological mother. According to the publication, 26-year-old Misty Spann received the maximum possible period provided for by laws for accused persons in incest.
