In Germany, accused of two former guards concentration camp Stutthof

In Germany, an indictment was submitted to the court for assistance in assassinations against two elderly men who served in the SS at the Stutthof concentration camp in Poland during World War II in Poland.

The defendants are 92 and 93, their names have not yet been made public. In their defense, they declare that they did not know that people were being killed in the camp, 9 Channel.



During the Second World War, about 110 thousand prisoners were taken to the Stutthof concentration camp, of which about 65 thousand were killed. In addition to medical experiments on prisoners, the camp is known for the production of soap from human bodies.

Only January 31, 1945 on the shores of the Baltic Sea near the city of Palmniken (today's Amber), SS soldiers shot about 3 thousand evacuees from the camp of the Jews. On May 9, 1945, prisoners of the camp were liberated by soldiers of the 48th Army of the 3rd Belorussian Front. Currently, the former concentration camp is a museum.
