It is noted that the members of the government approved the bill, according to which the Albanian language became the second official language, the publication of the AR.

In total, 66 parliamentarians positively supported the bill, while 41 opposed. Thus, this draft law expands the official use of the Albanian language throughout the country, which will simplify the interaction of the ethnic Albanian minority of Macedonia with state institutions.

It is worth noting that part of ethnic Albanians in Macedonia is equal to a quarter of the total population of the country.

The last law passed in 2001 after a peace agreement between ethnic Albanian rebels and government forces allowed the official use of the Albanian language only in communities in which some Albanians were at least 20 percent of the population.

As previously reported in "URA-Inform", Ukrainian deputies answered that knowledge of the state language is mandatory for further integration into society. Members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, among whom the representatives of Romania are leading, during the debates in PACE severely criticized the educational law.
