The General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine denied the arrest and extradition of the former chief of the Kiev regiment of the special forces "Berkut" Sergei Kusyuk. This Tuesday, November 7, said the head of the Department of Special Investigation of the Prosecutor General's Office Sergei Gorbatyuk.

According to him, the Russian Federation motivated its refusal by the fact that Kusiuk is a Russian citizen, and the Russian state does not extradite its citizens.

Recall, the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine summoned for questioning the former commander of the Kiev "Berkut" Sergei Kusyuk in the criminal case of abuse of authority during the dispersal of activists of the Maidan in November 2013.

The corresponding agenda was published on the GPU website.

As reported URA-Inform, the article provides for criminal liability for abuse of power or official authority, if it was accompanied by violence, the use of weapons against the victim.
