On Friday afternoon, in one of the buildings of the State Museum of Fine Arts named after A. Pushkin, at Volkhonka, 10, there was a fire. It is assumed that the focus was in the ventilation system, from where the flame spread to the roof.
In this two-story building, which is located next to the main building, is a museum of personal collections. The State Museum of Fine Arts named after A. Pushkin - one of the largest storages of works of foreign art. In the museum's funds are more than 700 thousand works of art from different eras:
from ancient civilizations to the 21st century.
From the building were evacuated 30 people - visitors and staff of the building. The Volkhonka movement was also blocked.
From the roof of the building there was a pungent smoke, the area of ??fire was 40 square meters. On-site worked 10 firefighting calculations (70 people), and to 16. 00 the fire was eliminated. By the evening the fire was extinguished. As a result of the fire, there are no casualties, no injuries or works of art.
