Sverdlovsk detectives celebrate a professional holiday - today 99 years since the formation of the legendary criminal investigation service in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

According to the press secretary of the GU MVD of Russia in the Sverdlovsk region, Valery Gorelykh, this year, Sredne-Ural wrestlers disclosed more than a thousand crimes against the person, such as murder, rape and serious bodily harm. On disclosing crimes of past years, the Sverdlovsk region ranks third in Russia.

On the eve of the holiday, the head of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sverdlovsk Region, police colonel Alexander Mazaev, organized a memorable meeting with the veterans of this famous division. Among the guests were former commander-in-chief of Lieutenant-General Vladimir Vorotnikov, former head of the "slaughter department" Alexander Gruzdev, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War Yefim Shteinvarg and other honored detectives. They were awarded with medals "Glory of the Soviet Militia". Ten law enforcement officers were awarded honorary certificates of the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sverdlovsk region.
