The weakening of the hryvnia exchange rate in September is mainly due to the seasonal demand for foreign currency from the energy traders.

This is reported on the official website of the NBU.

- The devaluation pressure on the hryvnia in September was mainly seasonal, due to the traditional growth in demand for foreign currency from oil and gas traders, which was further strengthened by a moderate increase in oil prices on the world market, the report said..

There they announced a reduction in the supply of cash foreign currency on the part of the population with growing demand. The NBU is confident that the increase in population demand is due to a seasonal deterioration in exchange rate expectations.
