Since October 1, the occupation authorities have begun the autumn conscription campaign in Sevastopol. At the same time, 400 selected residents of the city will be sent for service in the Russian army.
As stated in the statement of the Crimean human rights group on Facebook, more than a hundred people of them must go outside the peninsula. Our conscripts will be sent to military units of Sevastopol, Crimea, Krasnodar Territory, Rostov and Moscow regions to other entities, "said Russian military commissar of Sevastopol Alexei Astakhov.
At the same time, the Crimean human rights group noted that such an appeal by Crimeans, including residents of Sevastopol, to the Russian army grossly violates the norms of international humanitarian law.
Calling residents of the occupied territories in the ranks of the occupying army, as well as propaganda of the service in Russian waxes, are violating the article of the Convention on the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War of the Fourth Geneva Convention, and the movement of called citizens of Ukraine from the occupied territory to the territory of Russia violates 49 articles of this Convention.
Recall, as reported URA-Inform, the European Parliament will consider a resolution on the violation of human rights in the occupied Crimea by the peninsula Crimea on October 5, 2017.
