Regional carriers such as Qatar Airways, EgyptAir and Middle East Airlines from Lebanon have already informed passengers that flights from Friday will be canceled until October 1 at the request of the Civil Aviation Administration of Iraq.
As previously reported in URA-Inform, Baghdad demands from the Kurdish autonomy to transfer control over airports and checkpoints at the borders. If the ultimatum is rejected, the Iraqi government will prohibit international flights to and from Kurdistan.
