Ex-official sold online personal data of Ukrainians

Law enforcers exposed a 40-year-old resident of the Kiev region.

Who for the money sold to the Internet personal data of Ukrainians, as well as police conducted searches at his residence and residence.

During the searches, computer equipment and network equipment were removed, with the help of which the man distributed data.

"About 250 different databases were found on his computer, including the pension fund database where he used to work as a technical worker," the cyberpolicy.

The police now determine how and from where the man got access to these databases.



Cyberpolicy also does not exclude that the attacker, having the appropriate technical education, independently interfered with the operation of users' computers or infected them with malicious software in order to obtain the necessary information.

In this case criminal proceedings have been opened.

As previously reported in URA-Inform, hackers stole data from more than 2 million users of the application for cleaning operating systems CCLeaner.
