Ash release was recorded on Shiveluch and Klyuchevskaya. As reported by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Kamchatka Krai, according to video data from the Kamchatka Response Team for volcanic eruptions, ash eruptions of up to eight thousand meters were recorded on Shiveluch volcano this morning. The height of the volcano itself is three thousand 283 meters.
At the same time, the volcano Klyuchevskom recorded ash release at a height of up to six thousand meters, while the height of the volcano itself is four thousand and 750 meters. The Russian agency also noted that the ash plume from both volcanoes spread to several tens of kilometers. On the way of its distribution there are no settlements.
Recall Klyuchevskoy volcano or Klyuchevskaya hill is an active volcano in the east of Kamchatka. It is located 360 kilometers from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The height of the volcano is 4.9 kilometers. It is considered one of the highest active volcanoes in Eurasia.
The eruption of Klyuchevsky began in April 2016.
Shiveluch is also an active volcano on the Kamchatka Peninsula within the Eastern Ridge. This is the northernmost of the active volcanoes of Kamchatka. The distance from Shiveluch to the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky is 440 kilometers, to the village of Klyuchi - 47 kilometers.
