According to the Ministry of Health in Ukraine is expected the flu "Hong Kong", "Brisbane" and the new strain for Ukraine "Michigan". Last year, influenza A (H1N1), to which the "Michigan" strain belongs, circulated at a very low level. However, despite the "non-aggressive" strain, doctors believe that this year the epidemic of influenza can no longer be avoided.

At the same time, the department noted that observation of the flu gives all grounds to predict an increase in the number of cases of sickness to 14%, since the country has a weak immunity to the disease in healthy people, as well as a low percentage of vaccination coverage against the background of a worsening socioeconomic situation in Ukraine. At the same time, officials assured that the virus "Michigan" is a subspecies of "swine flu" and it has similar signs of disease.

Its incubation period is 4-7 days. The "Michigan" flu differs in a severe course with a high probability of complications, "Povoroznik noted, adding that patients experience a temperature increase of 38.7-40 degrees, which remains high for three or more days.

Also, patients may experience headache, aches or pains in the joints, muscles, drowsiness, weakness, refusal to eat, cough without sputum, abundant sweating, dry mucous membranes of the mouth, nose, nasopharynx.

Progressing influenza can leave complications due to the development of pneumonia (primary, secondary or mixed), serous meningitis, encephalitis.

When infected with the influenza virus "Michigan" complications develop quite quickly and are difficult.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, in December 2016 in Ukraine came the flu virus called "Hong Kong". This was reported by the head of the department of respiratory and other viral infections of the Institute of Infectious Diseases. Gromashevsky.
