This was announced on Tuesday, September 5, by the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, the representative of Ukraine in the subgroup on humanitarian issues of the tripartite contact group for the settlement of the situation in the Donbass, Irina Gerashchenko.

According to her, last year the main theme of all meetings of the humanitarian subgroup was the release of hostages. Ukraine has long been ready for broad compromises in the issues of freeing hostages, however, unfortunately, during this time, as we see, the number of those who are illegally detained in the occupied territories has only increased.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, earlier Irina Gerashchenko said that in captivity from the militants of the so-called "Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics" 71 Ukrainians are held hostage.
